Manifesto Eng

A martini. Shaken, not stirred. We will be creative. We will help change habits. We will inspire change for future generations. We have forced ourselves to contradict ourselves in order to avoid conforming to our own taste. We will invest in environmental research. We will minimise usage and waste. We will reduce pollution. Thought is made in the mouth. We will embrace innovations in sustainability. We will change the way we work. We have no right to drag others into our river, we oblige no one to follow us and everybody practices his life in his own way. E.T. phone home. When this is over will we simply turn the engines on and get back to destroying the planet? Just Culture is a concept related to systems thinking which emphasizes that mistakes are generally a product of faulty organizational cultures, rather than solely brought about by the person or persons directly involved. In a just culture, after an incident, the question asked is What went wrong? rather than Who caused the problem?. A just culture is the opposite of a blame culture. In a system of just culture, discipline is linked to inappropriate behavior, rather than harm. A just culture is one of the components of a safety culture From Grammar Mistakes to Creative Errors Reality can be entered through the main door or it can be slipped into through a window, which is much more fun. Once upon a time there was a mistake. So silly so small that no one would even have noticed it. It couldn’t bear to see itself to hear of itself. It invented all manner of things just to prove that it didn’t really exist. It invented space to put its proofs in. And time to keep its proofs. And the world to see its proofs. All it invented was not so silly. Nor so small. But was of course mistaken. Could it have been otherwise? The aim of science is not to open the door to infinite wisdom, but to set a limit to infinite error. We have become, by the power of a glorious evolutionary accident called intelligence, the stewards of life’s continuity on earth. We did not ask for this role, but we cannot abjure it. We may not be suited to it, but here we are.
